PlanMember Named One of Only Five “Best in Class” Retirement Plan Providers for Florida Schools
In response to the new IRS 403(b) regulations that were announced in 2007 and officially took effect this year, a coalition of Florida’s most powerful K-12 education associations formed the Independent Benefits Council (IBC) to unravel and simplify retirement planning for all of Florida’s 67 school districts.
A not-for-profit corporation, the IBC spent one year simplifying and improving the daunting array of retirement investment plans available to school system employees. Along with TSA Consulting and Gallagher Benefit Services, the IBC created the Model Plan, transforming the 403(b) landscape in Florida’s K-12 system.
Not only does the Model Plan satisfy the new IRS requirements, it improves retirement savings and investment choices and significantly reduces fees that Florida teachers and staff pay to the companies that offer investment products.
PlanMember Services was carefully vetted and chosen from more than 24 companies as one of only five Best in Class companies exclusively invited to participate in the Model Plan. PlanMember was selected as the only multi-product custodial account provider, offering an array of mutual fund and fixed account options.
